Standing by to stand by in Tacoma, WA

I brought a load of vehicles from Manheim, PA to Seattle, WA and unloaded on Saturday and have now been sitting here in Tacoma, WA since then waiting for a load to come up. Hurry up and wait is sometimes the name of the game. I have plenty of experience with that I was, after all a Marine. traveling out West through Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Washington is such a beautiful drive. I would like to live in Montana on the Yellowstone River. I saw 20 acre parcels for sale on the Yellowstone along the way. I hope to find something from this area, I don't want to have to deadhead to California to get a load back.

Two days in LA

I have a couple days off in LA, so I think I'll go visit hollywood blvd or the beach. Tonight I went and watched the movie The Town; I thought it was a pretty good movie. Today I found out that two of the vehicles I was to deliver today are going to San Francisco instead of LA, so I have to stay out here another day or so to make those deliveries on Thursday. I am going to be loading here in LA on Friday and going over to Lafayette, LA.

Haven't been on here in along time.

It has been many months since I have posted anything on my blog. I have purchased another truck since last time I was on here. I flew out to Portland, OR to pick the truck up a couple of weeks ago and drove from Portland, OR down the Pacific Coast Highway US 101 down to LA and brought a load of cars back to Saint Joseph, MO. I have hired a driver and am looking to purchase a dually truck and a three car trailer in the next two months.

Today I started out in Elk City, OK and finished up in Winslow, AZ. Tomorrow I will be heading to LA to unload 11 cars.

A little Exercise

Well today my authority with the new company name has taken effect. I am just waiting on a couple more things before I can actually start operations under the new name. I had to return my rental car to Hertz today. I drove it back and then walked the 6 miles back to my hotel. The hotel shuttle doesn't start running until 4:30 pm and I didn't feel like sitting at the mall until then so I walked back in about an hour give or take a few minutes. Hopefully everything will be finalized tomorrow and I can head back towards Ohio.

Beautiful California

I wish California wasn't so expensive and liberal I could live out here. It's a very beautiful, versatile state. From the desert to the snow covered mountains within hours, beaches Cal has it all.

Purchased truck and trailer in California

I spent the day looking over and then purchasing a truck and trailer for the business yesterday in sunny California. I will be staying in the LA area for the next few days. I hope to be going back to Ohio by Wednesday of next week. Although I am really enjoying the 70 degree weather out here.

Sunny Southern California

I flew out to LA, CA yesterday to buy a truck. Another person showed up yesterday to buy the truck but this time the salesman told him he would have to wait until I showed up to buy or at least tell them I wasn't interested. Unfortunately for him and fortunate for me I'm buying it. This truck is in really good shape compared to all of the other ones I have looked at.

Truck buying experience

I spoke with a dealer in Iowa last Thursday about buying a truck told him I wanted the truck even offered to send him a deposit; he assured me the truck wasn't going anywhere that a deposit wouldn't be necessary. I told him I would be out there Wednesday of this week to pick it up. I called him today to let him know I would be there on Wednesday and he tells me that someone else is on their way to get the truck as we speak. Talk about making me angry, I would have been there today if I knew he wasn't good for his word.

I just finished creating the company website.

I have purchased a couple of domains this past week and I just created my very first website today. I have virtually spent the last three to four hours editing the website and I imagine I will spend another one hundred hours getting it to where I would like it to be.

Getting organized

I spent most of yesterday and today getting all of the necessary government documentation completed and updated. I believe almost everything is finally finished.

Awaiting Final ICC Authority Approval of Company Name Change

Not much going on today, I am just waiting for the FMCSA to approve the name change for my company.

First Day of Blogging

Until I have my website created I will be updating this blog daily so that my customers can follow where in transit their vehicles are. I will probably continue even when the website is completed.
